Liverpool vs Manchester City Match preview

The newly crowned Capital One champions will visit the Merseyside on Wednesday evening for a premier league match against Liverpool. Having lost the capital one trophy to the citizens it is with no doubt that the reds will focus on inflicting a setback on the visitors. Liverpool has had a boost as most of their injured players are back either fully fit or training to full fitness. Their performance though has not been consistent despite acquiring the services of a top football manager, as they are ninth in the premium league table. City sitting fourth in the Premier league table nine points behind the surprise leaders, Leicester City and just three points ahead of their neighbours Manchester United, City will focus on a win for them to revive their dwindling title hopes. The match will also be a crucial one for city considering that if they continue losing matches chances of securing a Champions League ticket next season may prove tricky especially if Man United keep-winning games. In fact, this has been emphasised by Zabaleta who has claimed that winning at Anfield will be more important for them than winning of capital one trophy.

The legendary Anfield will host one of the most unpredictable matches, as both teams have been inconsistent recently in their results. City having lost back-to-back premium league games in their last encounter will have to win this addition considering they lost heavily to Liverpool in the first leg at the Ethihad this will match will present itself as the perfect opportunity for a payback. Liverpool on the other hand being at home and fighting for a Europe competition next season then they will have to give their all in this match. Therefore, Liverpool manager Klopp will look forward to this match to improve the position of the team and increase their chances of getting to Europe next season.
